How to Read Your Bill Statement
VCDD Utilities is the department that performs the billing for the four utility companies serving The Villages:
- Village Center Service Area (Lake County and District 1 in Sumter County) is owned by the Village Center Community Development District.
- Little Sumter Service Area (District 2, 3 in Sumter County and District 4 in Marion County) is owned by the Village Center Community Development District.
- North Sumter County Utility Dependent District (District 5, 6, 7 and 8 in Sumter County) is owned by the North Sumter County Utility Dependent District.
- Central Sumter Utility Company LLC (District 9 & 10 in Sumter County) is owned by The Villages of Lake-Sumter Inc.
If you have two meters, one for household usage and one for irrigation, the two amounts are stacked in the chart using different shades of the same color. If a water or irrigation meter is replaced during the month, separate lines will show how much water was consumed on the old and the new meter. The amount of payments received since the last bill has been added along with a “Summary Activity Bar”. The Summary Activity Bar shows the previous statement balance, payment and adjustment, the balance forward, new charges and the account balance.
The VCDD Finance Department now bills for four separate utilities. Village Center Service Area (VCSA) serves the Lake County and District No. 1 portion of the Villages. The VCSA bills will have blue colored piping on the bills.
If you are served by the Little Sumter Service Area (LSSA) Utility in District Nos. 2, 3 and 4 in Sumter and Marion Counties north of CR 466, the piping on the bills will be green in color.
Customers located in Sumter County in District Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 8 are served by the North Sumter County Utility Dependent District (NSCUDD) and will receive bills with red color piping.
The fourth utility, Central Sumter Utility and Sumter Water Conservation Area, has just begun billing for customers located in District No. 9. This new utility will serve the area between CR 466A and CR 44A near Wildwood. The utility bill for our southern most Village residents will be distinguished by purple color piping on their bills.
