The Architectural Review Committee, comprised of Villages Residents, was founded in 1994 to provide residents with a measure of control over the composition and consistency of the exterior of residential properties within The Villages.

The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) is responsible for approving any and all alterations, changes or modifications to the property and home as built by the developer. This requirement for prior approval includes but is not limited to: porch or patio enclosures, canopies, awnings, garage screens, additional concrete, coloring of walks, landscaping and driveways and modifications to previously approved plans. An application with a set of plans must be submitted and approval granted before work is started.

New members of the committee are selected by the sitting committee and serve for three years. The committee meets each Monday to review residents' applications for modification, with an approval or rejection available to the resident by Wednesday afternoon. If the processed application is not picked up by the resident, it is mailed to their home.

You may print, complete, and drop off the following application to Sumter Landing District Office, 1894 Laurel Manor Drive, 751-6719 along with your site plan.
