In an effort to evaluate and improve our curriculum, we are seeking opinions of our participants concerning courses attended. Please read the following statements and carefully select the response that best indicates your opinion. Specific comments are most welcome, as this information will be used to maintain and expand the quality of our programs.

In April of 2017, The Village Center Community Development Districts Board directed The Villages Community Development Districts Recreation and Parks Department to establish a NEW division of lifestyle services that focuses on community education and enrichment. The new division, The Enrichment Academy, provides and operates a variety of fee based extra-curriculum courses that enhance and expand learning opportunities for residents and general public. Course curriculum complements the existing resident-led lifestyle and recreation services offered in the recreation facilities, providing even more choices to fulfill our residents’ passion for learning.
This new, exciting program will provide and operate fee based extra-curriculum courses in The Villages®. The Enrichment Academy will offer a variety of courses that will enhance and expand learning opportunities for its participants. It will complement the existing resident led lifestyle volunteer and recreation services offered in the recreation centers, and provide our residents even more choices to fulfill their passion for learning.

Yes, there are fees associated with each course. Course fees provide payment to instructors and program operations.
Courses are geared towards residents and anyone 30 years of age and older may register for our courses and programs.
All Enrichment Academy courses will be held at designated Recreation locations, or other approved locations.

Course Instructors provide leadership as an adjunct instructor to teach a course that fulfills an educational, social, recreational, emotional or physical need to participants of The Enrichment Academy. All prospective course instructors are required to complete a Course Instructor application available on our website www.DistrictGov.org or at any Regional Recreation Center. Course Instructor applications are accepted year round and reviewed bi-annually.
Speakers are invited to present and educate a crowd on leading-edge research, historical events, innovative techniques, emerging trends, or real-life experiences. All prospective speakers are required to complete a Speaker application available on our website www.DistrictGov.org or at any Regional Recreation Center. Speaker applications are accepted year round.
We will be looking for volunteers to work with our new division to assist office staff, and will require all prospective volunteers to complete and return a Volunteer Application. Volunteer Applications will be available on our website and at Regional Recreation Centers Spring 2017.
In order to provide a quality lifestyle service to our residents, we will be growing The Enrichment Academy in phases. As part of our initial phase, Phase I, all offered courses will be “Core Courses.” These Core Courses are defined as academically and culturally enhancing, and teach students the foundational knowledge and skills they need for growth. Examples of courses include: writing; foreign language; history; art, dance, science; and basic technology.
The Enrichment Academy team welcomes prospective instructors who feel they teach “Core Courses” to submit an application for review, and consideration in our Phase I curriculum. Instructors will be contacted to schedule an appointment with The Enrichment Academy Recreation Manager. All approved instructors are classified as Adjunct Instructors. Additional contractual agreement and policy information will be provided if chosen.
The Enrichment Academy Volunteers offer lifestyle services to participants. Your interest to commit your time, talents, skills and energy to others enhances their quality of life. The Enrichment Academy team welcomes prospective volunteers to submit an application for review. Volunteers will be contacted to schedule an appointment with The Enrichment Academy Recreation Manager.
